How Irregular Choice Made Me Love Shoe Shopping

I have discovered what is possibly the coolest shoe shop in the world? At least, the coolest I have ever personally come across! This is going to be a quickie post complete with drooling and pictures (not pictures OF drooling – don’t worry!) conveying my adoration for this awesome shop, Irregular Choice that I came across in Carnaby Street, London on a recent trip.

I have never really been into shoe shopping; I find it dull and frustrating because for me; however nice the shoe looks, it’s just no good if it’s not comfortable and a lot of shoes that look beautiful are just not comfortable. NO ONE can pull of uncomfortable shoes, not even Sarah Jessica Parker. With pretty but impractical shoes you end up with sore and aching feet, blisters and lots of other very unsexy and irritating ailments so what is the point? Unless you’re perfectly comfortable, your shoes won’t have the chance to truly shine because you’ll be walking like Bambi on ice and messing around with them the whole time that you’re wearing them.

With this in mind, when I’m on the hunt for a new pair of shoes, I just want the shopping part over with and the shoe to be right. I wish I could hire a shoe shopper for me to do all the leg work (pun intended) leaving me to enjoy the end result of having the perfect shoe for every outfit and occasion. I hate having to try shoes on in shops; when you’ve been busy shopping, your feet are not at their best to be getting out in front of an unsuspecting shoe assistant and I find the whole experience unsettling and unpleasant.

But. I will make an exception for this Irregular Choice! I was literally pacing up and down the shop squealing with delight and could not believe some of the shoe designs I came across! I was like a kid in a candy shop. The price tags? Hefty, of course. But for once this didn’t daunt or anger me too much because the impeccable creativity of these shoes is, in my opinion, worth paying for.

For example; look at these squirrel heels!! I’ve never seen anything like it! I just love them – the choice of colours and the fur. I would love to see people’s reactions if I wore these.

I’m absolutely loving these sparkly music note shoes too, they are fab, especially for a music lover, such as myself!!

Loving all these pairs and find myself imagining myself wearing these somewhere nice and hot. I love the clash of patterns and how they still go together so well. The roses on the front make a bold and beautiful statement.

I’m a cat lover so these cute boots would be perfect for me – and look at the bag to match!

Teddy bear and poodle shoes. I think these speak nicely for themselves.

This beautiful collection of shoes can all be found under the unconventional roof of Irregular Choice on Carnaby Street, London. This fashion brand originated in Brighton in 1999 and there is an online store if this post has excited you and you’re sat at home squirming in your seat thinking I need this in my life. There is also a store in Camden Town, London too. They do a great range for kids and gentlemen with a flair for the unique too.

All I need to do now is pick an occasion and I’m there!

I am so there.
