I believe that well-being is at the centre of everything; if we don’t put enough time into ourselves, we inevitably burn out or begin to show signs of poor health, whether that be mental or physical. I am by no means an expert in this area, but it is a passion of mine and I just think that it makes perect sense to deal with well-being when we are keen to travel more and earn extra money – these are activities that require us to be active and have energy so looking after ourselves is a no-brainer.

I’m not paticularly a big fitness fanatic which is why I started this introduction by saying that I am no expert in this area – I don’t do yoga every week or go to the gym or meditate but I am interested in the other ways that we can look after our well-being such as: walking in the fresh air and being around nature; cooking wholesome food that you also enjoy eating; taking stock of your emotions and thinking about how you are developing as a person and what you want from life; doing your bit to look after the environment, however small.

These things are a great place to start with well-being and can make all the difference. Our mental health is talked about a lot more these days and is becoming more on a par with physical health which I think is a great thing because the brain is such a complex organ – it is bound to get poorly sometimes, so why hide from that? Share it if you think that will help. I have personally found that, if I have had a challenging period in my life, it is therapeutic for me to write a post on here about it because it helps me to think that I have done something creative out of the experience and documented it rather than just pretending it didn’t happen. And if a reader can relate to something that I have said, that they themselves have been struggling with, and this helps them to feel less alone – then that is even better!

Here you will find some of these kinds of posts and more about little ideas for living in a more mindful way.
