Hi! Welcome to Mint Bluebells

I am from Yorkshire in the United Kingdom and have been writing incrementally all my life, becoming more full-time with it back in lockdown when I (and indeed most of us!) had more time to process my thoughts and explore my creativity.

This blog began as a travel blog under a different name (Sound Mind Travel) and dealt with my passion for travel and exploration, with a particular interest in all places weird and wonderful – off the beaten track travel.

This will still be very much written about on this blog, but now I am coming from a more author perspective than directly travel. This site will, along with travel writing, will focus on nature writing, quotes and snippets and poems that have become more of an interest for me over the years, along with keeping my readers updated on my latest releases and publications.

I also write about well-being – because you can not be as productive if you are not feeling great. I am in touch with my emotions and how I respond to the world as a human being and find it fulfilling to write about these kinds of experiences as if they are a journey of their own – which they are. I don’t believe you always need to physically travel to embark on a journey.

This blog began as a general travel diary blog but has evolved into something more.

If you would like to read every post I’ve ever written, go here; every post concisely in the same place.

For all posts on Unusual Places, here.

My love of unusual or off the beaten track places is infinite. I mean, my love of places in general is infinite but I really do enjoy discovering something that doesn’t quite tick the box of what you would have expected from somewhere; such as a duck pond in a restaurant, an abandoned theme park or an enchanted tree. I get a real buzz from that and it gets my curiosity bubbling away. I plan to keep seeking out and visiting as many unusual places as possible and writing about them on here so do check regularly.

For Well-being posts, go here.

My interest in well-being stems from merely wanting to be good to myself so that I can hopefully live a long, healthy and happy life. That’s it. I am by no means a guru but am happy stumbling along and sharing any wisdom I have learned in my time so far to hopefully help myself and others.

Anyway, I have much more of a life story to tell but that’s another story for another day perhaps. For now, feel free to peruse the site and read my articles to get a bit of a grasp on who I am and in the process, I really hope that you can find some ideas for things to do to enrich your own life, if that is the sort of thing you are looking for!

Feel free to leave a comment and strike up a narrative with me on any of my posts or ask any questions and I will see how I can help.

Thank you for the visit and I hope you enjoy what you find!
